Hi Zack, I just bought a 05 cadillac sts about a month ago with only 68,400k. Car looks to be in beatiful shape. What I didn`t notice was about 10 rust bubbles under the paint on the roof along the top of the windshield. Not very big, 1/4 to 3/8 in dia. Thought it was tree sap at first. They are hard to see, car is black and very shiny. Cadillac has no moldind to cover top of windshield to edge of roof, instead it`s like a small channel 1/4 deep, 1/4 across & 1/4 back up to meet roof.
Went to 2 dealerships in Edmonton. Rust warranty is 6 years or 160,000k but they basically told me, so sad, too bad, the rust has to be all the way through. I pretty much have to be looking at the sky to qualify. This is a very poor design from the get go and they basically agreed. These bubbles are only on the roof between windshield & moon roof.
I got a quote from a GM dealer body shop @ $1,800. Is there anything that I can do? Or am I stuck with this? Never had rust on a roof or any kind at such low kms. This car came from California originally. HELP!!!!
