Hi
I know the subject has been touched upon on the show, but I would like to have more info on the differences, pros and cons on the CVT versus the regular transmission. I remember Zack saying that he prefers the regular trany to the CVT but never did explain why. I am interested in the 08 Murano from Nissan coming out in early 08 and it has the CVT so I am concerned because I don?t know the differences And why the companies are now using it.

Zack's Response: A CVT is a one gear transmission that varies the ratio at different speeds. It mimics a conventional transmission but only has one gear. This is not a great answer but I suggest you do a search on-line for "how stuff works" and that site has a better description for you.
