I've looked at both the X3 and the X5, and it appears that the X3 actually has more usable trunk space (but the X5 will, of course, have more passenger room). Obviously, options are more varied on the X5, but things like the HUD and IP interface seem to be older versions than available on the X3. In regards to the X3 Sport Package - did you find that the ride became uncomfortable as a daily commuter? Did you try it with the Dynamic Damper Control and did that seem to have any effect? You mentioned the sports suspension should be tested as prior to purchase - did you try the dynamic dampeners?
