» 2012 Buick Verano

Buick introduces a compact near-luxury sedan based on the popular Chevrolet Cruze platform. By adding more power, sound insulation and refinement to an already comfortable car, the Verano is unique in the marketplace.

Zach... have a Buick Verano (2012) with P235 45R18 all season tires. If i buy a separate set of rims and tires for the winter, do i install the same size or are there other options for this? Thanks. Mark.

I would install the same size unless you are driving through deep snow, then a smaller tire might be better.

Rumour has it the 2.0 Turbo may be available for the Verano down the road. Wouldn't that be nice... a home-grown to rival the GTI and GLI

Yes, the 2.0 turbo is coming and hopefully the new 2.5L direct injection which is fantastic.

I've test drive Acura, Lexus, Audi & Infiniti compact SUV's, got fed up and drove a Verano Leather Ed. and love it. Apples and oranges, I know, but found that in Calgary luxury dealers have no inventory and a take-it-or-leave-it attitude!
The issue with the Verano is that it's not AWD. Is there anything in the ''domestic' luxury lineup that is? What is your opinion of the Cadillac ATS? I'm a little dubious of Cadillacs. We keep our cars for 15+ years so this may be my last vehicle and I want to do it right.
Thank you.
L.

Cadillac is right at the very top of quality studies, so they know how to make a good car. After 15 years, it might be a different story. As for the Verano, I think it is a great deal in the luxury sedan segment, the car is a fantastic deal. To be honest, buying a good set of winter tires is more than enough to get you through the winter. AWD is overrated for the average driver.

I recently purchased a 2006 buick Allure CXS (caddy motor) with 62K
It has a horrendous rattle in the right front drive area that you only hear when going over pavement that feels like washboard. Dueck have replaced the struts and now say this rattle is inherent with this model.
Have you heard of other people with this experience or can you suggest anything that Dueck may have missed (or not wanted to pay for)?

I'd do a bit or research on-line with web-forums specific to your car. Often other owners have had issues and know how to fix them. If not, then try another mechanic, this sounds like a cop-out.

Why do you think this car will fall thru the cracks. I'm looking for just a car like this with luxury, ride and price? What do you believe would be comparable to the verano. Thanks.

The closet competitor is the Acura ILX.
The problem Buick has is image, have a look at this video.
