hello zach

i have a couple questions regarding after market performance chips for a 2012 VW Jetta GLI Autobahn (6 speed manual)

ive looked into the concept-1 VW shop here in calgary and they offer the APR 1,2 & 3 programs.

first question: is there an after market chip that is allowable under the VW warranty?

second question: once these are uploaded to the cars ECU is it possible to turn the performance on/off? or is the chip always active once its uploaded?

hoping you can shed some light onto the subject for me before i go further!

If you want to do this then make sure the company supplying the chip provides a full warranty. Is this a chip or a ECU ''flash'' download? If it is a chip, you have to physically remove the chip. If it is a download, then you can either buy a programmer to update this yourself or have it switched off by the install company. Usually, you just download and leave it.
