If you had to make a choice between the 2013 Ford Escape and the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe, which would you choose and why?

We have one toddler and a baby on the way. Choice wise it's a dead heat between the Mazda CX-5 and the 2013 Ford Escape. The Mazda dealership we went to says no to any deals on the CX-5 because they're selling so well while Ford has some good deals at the moment.

We like the exteriors of both, but the interior style of the Ford seems a bit nicer.

Build quality and safety are our top concerns though.

Which do you recommend for a vehicle that'll last in the long run?

I like the look of the new escape , In europe ford has a diesel model , any idea when ford will bring this engine to canada ?

Hi, Zack.

I was dead certain that I was going to get the CX-5, but after driving it, I can't get past the crappy rear visibility at the corners. And since I only can afford the GX entry model that doesn't include the blind spot monitoring system, now I feel like I have to rethink my plans.

How does the 2013 Escape compare wrt rear visibility? Any better or worse than in the CX-5? I know the you can recline the second row seats in the Escape, which would increase the visibility a bit. I love the 6-spd manual on the CX-5. Too bad the Escape doesn't offer a manual transmission.

I was also considering the Impreza 5-dr, but I think it's a bit too small for my 3 boys. Might have another look at the Cruze and Optima.

Motormouth.ca says: 4:21 PM on May 10, 2012 If you have a blind spot you need to adjust your mirrors correctly. If you turn them out just a bit, you will adjust and be able to see just fine. The new Escape is about the same. Check the Hyundai Tucson for a manual transmission.
