Mazda has been promoting their new Skyactiv technology a lot recently. This all-new CX-5 is the very first vehicle to receive the full suite of Skyactiv Technology, including engine, transmission and body refinements.
Canada's long love affair with the compact car is starting to change. Families are no longer just looking for a small, efficient vehicle to fulfill their daily duties. Now they are looking to compact crossovers, which are often based on compact car platforms but offer much more interior space, ride height and available all-wheel-drive capability. For anyone interested in one of these practical vehicles there is some good news. The best sellers in this class are all new or soon to be released and this all-new Mazda CX-5 is a very strong competitor for any family's money. The best seller is the Ford Escape, with a new model arriving in about a month, followed by the second best seller the Hyundai Santa Fe that will come later this year. The Honda CR-V is the third best selling compact crossover and it has just been released and seeing very strong sales. Mazda has some tough competition but their CX-5 is up for the battle.
The Skin
It is interesting when potential buyers ask about buying a compact crossover, many do not like the over styled, flowing design trend that has become common with todays products. The traditional, boxy SUV design still has a place with some buyers this Mazda CX-5 is a nice combination or traditional and modern. The ''smiley'' front grille first used on the Mazda3 has been heavily modified producing an aggressive look that, in combination with the rather flat nose, produces the traditional SUV look. In contrast the profile is rather sporty due to a long hood and steeply raked windshield giving the CX-5 a sense of motion. Wheel sizes range from 17-inches on the base model to 19-inch wheels seen here on the top GT trim. Unfortunately the larger wheels cannot be ordered on the cheaper trim levels.

Gene 7:07 PM on August 21, 2012 Dealer made me an offer and said these are the fees they charge, are they legitimate? Also, when I've brought up the documentation fee, most dealers have either given me a look of exhausted impatience or whether my IQ is higher than the car has wheels.
