The G70 is Genesis fist effort at a compact sport sedan. Genesis has hit this one out of the park
The Genesis G70 is a compact, premium, sport sedan built to take on anything from Germany or Japan. This all-new Genesis G70 is built on a similar platform to the Kia Stinger but is shorter and weighs roughly 475 lbs less. The base engine is a 2.0L turbo 4-cylinder with 252hp or an optional 3.3L Turbo with 365hp. All but one model comes with standard AWD, or what Genesis calls HTRAC. The only RWD sedan is a special sport version of the 2.0L with a manual transmission. The Genesis G70 is nicely finished inside with a standard 8-inch tablet style screen with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There is a TFT screen in the centre of the instrument cluster but no pure digital dash. On size, the G70 is roughly the same size as the Mercedes C-Class. Right now, this G70 is the segment leader thanks to a $42,000 starting price, 5-year warranty and 5-years of maintenance, plus great handle dynamics. All bets are off when the new BMW 3 Series arrives.
The Genesis G70 is a compact luxury sports sedan that competes with the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes C-Class, Audi A4 and Lexus IS to name a few. Genesis is the luxury brand of Hyundai that was introduced as a separate company roughly two years ago. The Genesis G70 does share components, like engine, transmission and AWD system with the Kia Stinger but this car is 6-inches shorter than the Kia Stinger and anywhere from 160-475lbs lighter. The G70 compact luxury car is priced from $42,000 and comes delivered to your home including all fees except taxes. The Genesis G70 also comes with 5-years of warranty and service included.
