The Nissan Micra is one of the least expensive cars sold in Canada. Starting at $9998, this fun subcompact car offers great value, even the higher trim levels of the Nissan Micra. The Nissan Micra is almost a micro car with seating for 5-passengers and a hatchback design.

The Nissan Micra is a little car with a big attitude. This little machine is the least expensive car sold in Canada but at the same time it delivers more smiles per dollar than cars costing much more. The Micra is small but surprising roomy on the inside and can be a lot of fun to drive.

Power comes from a 1.6L 4-cylinder engine with 109hp. Power goes to the front wheels though a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic. This is the same drivetrain as the larger Versa, so in this smaller package it feels more dynamic.

It is rated at 8.6L/100km in the city and 6.6L/100km on the HWY when equipped with the manual transmission.

The base car comes is very basic, but targeted at first-time buyers on a budget. To get things like Bluetooth, air conditioning, power door locks and power windows, the buyer’s needs to choose the middle SV or sportier SR trim. The SR trim comes with a backup camera.

Safety comes from standard front, side and curtain airbags and standard stability and traction control.

The price starts at just under $10,000 and the top RS trim starts at $16,000

Highlights

While the Micra isn’t big on features it is big on the fun-to-drive factor, making this small car easy to live with every day. It is a perfect first new car or second vehicle in a family.
